Site Codes

The COSPAR site code is a unique number for identifying observing sites for satellite trackers. COSPAR site codes are assigned to satellite trackers by folks at the Visual Satellite Observers Group http://www.satobs.org/ in cooperation with COSPAR https://cosparhq.cnes.fr/ The two sites commonly listed in my satellite reductions are my home (8336 = TULSA1) and the Astronomy Club of Tulsa Observatory (8335 = TULSA2).

These are not the same as the COSPAR International Designator for satellites https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Designator which are for objects launched to space.

MPC (Minor Planet Center) site codes are also assigned, but for minor planet tracking. Site 323 is the remote scope I use in Perth. A list of all the MPC codes is at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_observatory_codes.
